My nephews (8) not only requested this, they researched it online for the best deal and begged me to opt for the fastest shipping(did not need to, it came very quickly). They could not even wait for my sister to take a pic before they opened it and started playing. Needless to say, it remains to be a huge hit!

This was a Christmas list request and so of course, the recipient loved it – as any Lego Star Wars fan would. Despite the price, I like that you get quite a few different figures, including some less common figures that will be worth something some day!

This takes a long time to build (several days) and my 9-year old needed help. The actual official designed structure is not durable. It falls apart into its Lego pieces easily. But the individual Lego blocks can be used to build all sorts of things for years and years. We have already taken the orginal structure apart and made our own vehicles and planes for the figurines. It is lots of fun to use creatively.

Purchased as a gift for the grandson…he loves this stuff. He is 8 years old and puts the kits together the first time…just like the instructions state…then he trys out different designs after that and really enjoys the Lego kits. Better than a computer game because it makes him think…design….and see his results on something he can hold in his hand.

Fantastic price for this LEGO set! My son has played with it for months. Usually he gets bored with a LEGO set after a few weeks. With this set he plays on and on. Completely worth the money!

Sometimes with LEGO Star Wars, you have to buy multiple sets to be able to “act out” a battle scene. The ice planet of Hoth comes to mind. Set 8038 has the entire set in the box, plus a lot of minifigs. You get: camo Leia 2 camo troopers 3 ewoks Han Chewie 3 imperial soldiers There are a lot of gizmos to build. You build a speeder, a catapult, a small walker (with opening), and a set of flying wings (for ewoks). The structure has moving parts, swing out sides, and blast doors that roll open and shut. It’s very cool and fun to build. Some of the panels on the structures are problematical and don’t want to stay in place. We have found that you need a dedicated surface in your house to be the “ground” for this Lego set, because if you move the structure too much, it disintegrates. This is the kind of set my son builds and plays with on and off for about a month, then he packs it into ziplock bags and puts it away. For him, the biggest fun is starting over and building it from the ground up. He’s 8. Shop around. We got ours at a big box store (starts with Tar) for 90 dollars.

This lego set roxs! There are more functions than whats on the box. The ewok glider has this on thingy that drops rocks on the scout troopers. This toy is so much fun. But I would be careful with the sheild bunker. It breaks kinda easy so be cautious moving it. It’s really awesome if you have some extra ewoks and/or stormtroopers. Get this toy, but be cautious of the shield bunker, I suggest adding extra baseplates for extra durability. I recommend this toy. It has hours of fun. I’m 13, and it took me 3 hours to build, and it’ll keep kids happy. I also recommend buying Mythbusters DVDs and watching those, too.
